I was thrilled to have my piece, “Incivility Anywhere Is a Threat to Civility Everywhere,” published in the most recent edition of the National Civic Review, one of the US’s oldest and most respected journals of civic affairs. In the article, I highlight how rising incivility threatens the very foundations of local governance and why addressing it is essential to preserving the future of our civic spaces.
Incivility isn’t just a local issue—it’s a global crisis. I shared some of the alarming statistics from around the world in this podcast episode a couple of weeks ago titled, "The War on Incivility".
Why? Because toxic culture spreads unless countered by strong and intentional leadership. Along my journey, I’ve met visionary leaders who understand the vital role of shaping civic culture and are actively leading the charge to do so.
This work has now culminated in the first-ever Global Civility Summit: Tackling Toxicity, Cultivating Civility, happening online on October 10th, 2024 in North America and the UK, and October 11th, 2024 in Australia.
With over 420 registrants from 300 cities, civic leaders are gathering to share strategies, build insights, and develop the tools needed to fight toxicity and strengthen civic life.
It’s free, online, and just 2 days away!
