Jane Austin, BC’s 30th Lieutenant Governor has launched this #DifferentTogether campaign. Together, we can ensure our communities are places that are safe, inclusive and contribute to human well-being for all.
🕊Take the pledge.
There will be no #BelovedCommunity until they are places where #everybodybelongs and neighbours have the courage to stand up against #discrimination and #injustice in all its forms. Silence is complicity.
👮 I’m encouraged by the example of so many police officers and Police Chiefs of conscience over the last few days that broke the heavy “blue wall of silence” also known as the “blue code” that binds police officers to not to report on a colleague's errors, misconducts, or crimes, including police brutality. This is the type of outspokenness and commitment to what is right that all citizens can foster towards their fellow citizens—whether it be in the school yard, workplace or town square.
✍🏼I pledge to uphold and promote these values and I commit to speaking up to oppose racism and hate in all its forms.
